Dos Vientos RanchComplete land planning design and EIR processing along with preparation of all engineering design for this 5,000-acre master planned community. The plan incorporates a broad mix of 2,350 detached housing products, a nine-acre commercial site, an affordable apartment site and 1,200 acres of open space with a contiguous trail system.
The firm overcame topographic restrictions, off-site compatibility issues, open space requirements and infrastructure constraints. In addition, local community and powerful environmentalist groups (including The Sierra Club and Save Open Space) opposed the development. Through an inclusive process, The Haaland Group was able to overcome such strong objections by uniting both groups’ diverging interests and keep the project on-track.
