The Chamber Building

Complete site and architectural design for local Chamber of Commerce building consisting of 4,000 square feet on three acres.
This building presented unique constraints due to its location at a major intersection within the city. The site, adjacent to an established residential neighborhood, contains mature Eucalyptus and Oak trees that had to be retained. The design also had to meet the approval of the local homeowners association, as well as the local city agencies. The solution was to create a residential theme utilizing Spanish architectural elements complementary to the architecture of the existing homes in the area. The design sums up the objectives of the client: cost efficiency and the need to reflect its surroundings while retaining flexibility for future enhancements.

Players Island Golf Club*

Alternate studies, property negotiations, survey, land planning, design development, permit applications, schematic design and construction liaison for this 400-acre, 18-hole Cal Olson signature golf course and infrastructure.
The project required the extension of access and utility infrastructure to the project. Major design issues centered on protection for the Virgin River flood plain as well as significant flood plain issues from two desert washes transecting the project. Sensitive issues also included impact on and restoration of wetlands plus water supply and storage issues. A unique flood protection design protects 5,000 lineal feet of the golf course frontage along the Virgin River, while retaining the aesthetics of the river's edge.

Civil engineering, land planning and concept design for this five-story office building, comprising 172,000 square feet residing on nine acres.
The client required five stories of office space but the land parcel was only zoned for a two-story building. Through innovative architectural design and creative grading approaches, The Haaland Group was able to receive the entitlement and permit for this five-story building since it only appeared to be two-stories tall from the street approach.

The Haaland Group was brought into this project to solve issues that had held up the project for over 10 years. In a short time, The Haaland Group developed solutions to all the issues and processed the project's approval through a County Board of Supervisors hearing.
